Aah – the power of flowers! There’s something special about fresh flowers and how they brighten a home and elevate one’s mood.
Yackandandah’s communal spaces are positively blooming! Each fortnight, a team of lovely family members and volunteers arrive, arms laden with beautiful blooms and gorgeous green foliage, ready to spend time with residents. Soon the lounge area is buzzing as the group creates stunning floral arrangements that are then placed all around the community, bringing bursts of colour and subtle fragrance.
“Fresh flowers always feel like home to me,” says one of the residents with a smile.
The staff agree. “The gorgeous displays are brightening our beautiful community, making it feel cosy and welcoming!”
“We’re very grateful to the wonderful team who so generously share their time, knowledge and all the lovely plants. The flower arranging activities are so much more than creating lovely displays. They provide residents an opportunity to participate in something purposeful, while making a meaningful contribution to the community they call home. And we’re all benefitting!” she adds.
